Girls Varsity Softball · Lady Chieftains split double header against Red Raiders

The Lady Chieftains split the double header with B.C. Rain on Thursday, March 19th.  The first game was a dominant showing by the Chieftains with Alexis Malone leading from the circle.  Malone recorded 3 strike-outs and only allowed 4 runs.  The final score for the Lady Chieftains first game was 10-4.

B.C. Rain came back strong in the second game and took the win with a score of 9-8.  The Chieftains racked up three hits and eight runs but the fatigue from the dominance in the first game caught up to them.

Jamie New racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Lady Chieftains in the second inning to tie the game at eight.  Unfortunately the batting positives shown by the Lady Chieftains just couldn’t overcome the pitching deficiencies.  Inside the circle there were seven runs allowed in 2 2/3 innings, while walking 10 and B.C. Rain finished with a two run RBI.

The Lady Chieftains are beginning to see the light, and should continue to gel as a team.  They look forward to their next area game with Fruitdale on Monday, March 23rd.

Go Lady Chieftains!
