Due to some inclement weather that forced Satsuma and JU Blacksher games to be rescheduled, this week the Chieftains will have a 4-game homestand. The Chieftains will face a very good UMS-Wright Bulldogs teams that the split with last year, including a late season romp at home. Satsuma will vist the Chickasaw on Thursday in which the Chieftains defeated the Gators 41-25 back on Dec. 12. The team will get their first 2A Area 1 test on Saturday against the Bulldogs of JU Blacksher. Blacksher swept the season series last year when both were in 1A Area 1. The homestand comes full circle as the Wildcats of St. Luke’s will visit Chickasaw on Tuesday, Jan. 17. The Wildcats are the defending 2A runner-ups from last season and the favorite to win 2A area 1 this season. It will definitely be a stiff test for this year’s team.
