After blanking region foe Choctaw County 41-0, the Chieftain defense will face a stiff test in St. Luke’s on Friday. Chickasaw disposed of the Tigers with ease ahead of their show down with the cross town rival Wildcats. The Chieftain run game has powered the offense to a 2-1 record and 1-0 in the region. It’s the first time in school history that it has been 2-1 to start the year. The Chieftains beat St. Luke’s in a thriller last season at Dotson Park marking the first win in the series. St. Luke’s is coming off a big win against Luverne, beating the home team 56-12. Xavier Wilson & Shashon Paige have been key players in the front seven thus far this season. Linebackers Fountaine Green and Dorian Jones will need to have good games in order to keep St. Luke’s run first offense off the field. The game will be played at West Mobile Park, the current home for the Wildcats. Kickoff is at 7pm.
