Boys & Girls basketball to play for area title

The girls defeated J.U. Blacksher 83-19 on their way to a showdown with St. Luke’s Friday at 6:00pm. The 83 points set a school record for points scored in a game. The Lady Chieftains finished the regular season 15-3 and ranked 7 in the last official poll of 2018. The boys followed with a 51-45

Chieftains ranked #6 in latest ASWA rankings

Fresh off of the regular season title in 2A Area 1 the Chieftains moved up to #6 in 2A. Chickasaw has put together a 5-game win streak since a home loss to 4A #8 UMS-Wright. The Chieftains’ remaining regualr season games are on the road at 5A East Central (MS) and at 4A #8 UMS-Wright.

The ASWA released its first poll of the 2016-17 basketball season and the Chieftains landed just outside of the top 10 at #12. This is the first time the Chieftains has been ranked in a ASWA poll since it finished the 2014-15 season ranked #7 in class 1A. Area rival and last year’s 2A state

Lashawn Williams: Player of the Month

Lashawn Williams has been named player of the month (November) for the varsity boys basketball team.Williams helped guide the Chieftains to a 4-1 record in November including a current 6 game win streak. Williams also leads the team in scoring just under 10ppg. His 10rpg is second behind only Kendell Grimes.
